Texas tradition returns December 10–23 with more than 2 million lights and seven free admission nights
AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Tickets are now available for the 62nd Annual Austin Trail of Lights, powered by H-E-B, returning to Zilker Park December 10–23. Featuring more than 2 million lights, 96 illuminated trees and over 70 festive displays and lighted tunnels, the event invites visitors from across the country to experience the holidays in the heart of Texas’ capital city.
What began in 1965 as a small gathering around a yule log has grown into one of Austin’s most cherished traditions. Today, the Trail combines dazzling displays, entertainment, seasonal treats and holiday activities in a celebration that brings families, friends and visitors together.
General Admission at 7 p.m. is free on half of the nights: December 10–11 and 13–17. Admission on December 12 and 18–23 is $8 per person, with children under 12 admitted free every night.

Visitors can personalize their experience with premium admission options. ZIP passes, starting at $20, include early entry, access to the ZIP Lounge, cookies and cocoa. Platinum passes, starting at $95, offer early entry, valet parking, a dedicated entrance and lounge amenities.
The season begins with the Preview Party on December 4, featuring live music, local bites, beverages and amusement rides. The Fun Run, presented by Raising Cane’s, follows December 5 with a festive, untimed two-mile course and a new rolling start.
Proceeds from premium experiences and special events support Trail operations, free admission nights and STARS at the Trail, which provides tailored holiday experiences for nonprofits.
