New Women & Wealth online educational program gives financial planners practical training to better communicate with, understand and serve women as trillions of dollars shift into their control
DALLAS, Sept. 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Amplified Planning, Hannah Moore’s financial planning education company behind The Externship, today announced the launch of the Women & Wealth Masterclass, a new specialized continuing education course designed to help financial planners build stronger, more enduring relationships with women clients.
Created in partnership with award-winning financial advisor and author Cary Carbonaro, CFP®, MBA, the eight-module course translates Carbonaro’s more than 25 years of experience advising women into practical strategies planners can apply in their own practices, from understanding how women experience and make financial decisions to communicating more effectively during major life and wealth transitions.
The launch comes as one of the most consequential shifts in wealth ownership in U.S. history accelerates. Cerulli Associates estimates that $124 trillion will transfer through 2048, including $54 trillion first moving between spouses. More than 95% of those spousal transfers are expected to go to women, with nearly $40 trillion projected to come under the control of widowed women in Baby Boomer and older generations. Cerulli has said that firms that cater to women will be set for decades to come.
Yet capturing that opportunity will require more than new products or marketing campaigns. Cerulli also found that relationships matter more in advisor selection among women investors than men, underscoring the importance of building trust with women clients well before a wealth transfer, death, divorce, or other major transition occurs.
“Women are poised to control an extraordinary amount of wealth, but this course isn’t really about statistics; it is about whether our profession is prepared to serve those women well,” said Moore. “Technical knowledge alone isn’t enough. Great planners need to know how to listen, communicate, build trust and understand the experiences their clients bring into financial conversations. Those skills are becoming more important, not less.”
The Women & Wealth Masterclass is Amplified Planning’s first Spotlight Course, a new category of specialized education featuring recognized industry experts and topics with significant relevance to the future of financial planning.
Carbonaro brings a distinctive combination of practitioner experience, research, advocacy and real-world client work to the course. She currently serves as Managing Advisor and Women and Wealth Ambassador at Ashton Thomas Private Wealth and has spent more than two decades advocating for a more inclusive and effective approach to serving women. She is the author of Women and Wealth: A Playbook to Empower Clients and Unlock Their Fortune, listed on Wealth Management’s Top 10 Books for Financial Advisors in 2025, and The Money Queen’s Guide, an Amazon No. 1 bestseller. She has also served as a CFP Board Ambassador for more than a decade and was named InvestmentNews’ 2025 DEI Trailblazer of the Year and 2026 Financial Education Champion.
“The goal is to change how advisors think about serving women by becoming better at understanding the person sitting across the table from them,” said Carbonaro. “Women want to be heard. They want to understand the ‘why’ behind the advice. They want an advisor who recognizes that money is connected to family, independence, security, identity and the life they are trying to build. Advisors who learn how to have those conversations will not only serve women better; they will become better advisors.”
The masterclass builds on the ideas Carbonaro explores in her book, Women and Wealth, while moving beyond the book to provide advisors with practical tools, examples and frameworks they can use directly with clients.
Across eight modules, participants will explore topics including:
- The history of women and money and how it continues to influence financial behaviors today;
- The psychology and life experiences that can shape women’s financial decision-making;
- Communication strategies that help clients feel heard, understood, and confident;
- How advisors can build relationships with both partners in a household rather than treating one spouse as the primary financial decision-maker;
- Navigating pivotal moments including widowhood, divorce, inheritance, career changes and other financial transitions;
- Creating client experiences that strengthen trust and long-term retention; and
- Positioning an advisory practice to authentically attract and serve women as an increasingly important client segment.
For Moore, the program also reflects a broader shift in what financial planners need to know as technology automates more elements of the traditional planning process.
“The planners who thrive in the future will certainly need strong technical skills, but their real differentiator will increasingly be their ability to connect with people,” Moore said. “We want to help planners develop those human skills early in their careers and continue strengthening them throughout their professional lives. Cary has spent decades learning what works, what doesn’t, and where our profession still needs to improve. This partnership gives us the opportunity to make that expertise accessible to thousands of planners.”
Carbonaro emphasized that the program is intentionally designed for planners of all genders.
“We want men taking this course,” Carbonaro said. “Serving women well isn’t a women’s issue; it’s an advisor issue and a business issue. The skills we’re teaching, such as listening, empathy, asking better questions, and communicating in ways that build confidence, make you more effective with every client. Advisors who get this right are going to be better positioned to build practices that endure across spouses and generations.”
The course also represents an important expansion of Amplified Planning’s educational offerings. Best known for The Externship, its immersive eight-week virtual training program for aspiring and early-career planners, Amplified Planning has trained more than 8,000 aspiring and new financial planners through its programs. The company is increasingly extending that experiential-learning approach to support advisors and firms throughout the planner-development lifecycle.
“We are extremely selective about the expertise we bring into the Amplified Planning community,” Moore said. “I’ve followed Cary’s work for years, and what impressed me most is that she isn’t talking about this theoretically. She has built a highly successful career serving women, studying how they experience financial advice and pushing the profession to do better. These are exactly the kinds of voices and lessons we want to amplify.”
The Women & Wealth Masterclass is now available for purchase for $397, with the inaugural program beginning September 28, 2026. Participants in the first cohort will have access to live sessions with Carbonaro, and the course will subsequently remain available through the Amplified Planning course library.
