JOHANNESBURG, Sept. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The African National Congress (ANC) welcomes the decision of the High Court of South Africa, Eastern Cape Division, Makhanda, dismissing the urgent application challenging the ANC’s candidate lists for the 2026 Local Government Elections. The ANC notes the outcome of the matter and respects the authority of the courts and the rule of law.
The ANC is a democratic movement with established organisational processes and mechanisms through which members are able to raise and resolve grievances. The ANC continues to encourage its members to utilise and exhaust the internal processes of the movement.
