NEW YORK, Aug. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) today announced the launch of a new Spanish-language microsite, expanding access to critical information and resources for Spanish-speaking people living with Parkinson’s disease (PD) and their care partners and families.
With a mission to provide the support, education, research, and community that helps everyone impacted by PD live life to the fullest, APDA has long prioritized reaching under-resourced, under-studied, and under-engaged communities, including those who speak Spanish. Over time, the organization has created an extensive library of educational publications in Spanish, developed Spanish-language educational and support programs, and made its APDA Symptom Tracker App available in Spanish. APDA has also expanded its Spanish-speaking staff and provides support in Spanish through its national helpline.
The new Spanish-language microsite expands upon existing Spanish website content, providing a more extensive collection of up-to-date, essential information for anyone impacted by PD – whether newly diagnosed, living with the disease for years, or serving as a care partner. APDA ensures that all translated materials are both linguistically accurate and culturally relevant by collaborating with staff members who are fluent in Spanish and deeply familiar with the needs of the communities they serve.
The new Spanish-language microsite features:
- Comprehensive information about PD, including symptoms, diagnosis, treatment options, and more
- Guidance for living well with PD focused on nutrition, exercise, mental health, therapies, and other topics
- Educational webinars and resources, including downloadable publications and the free APDA Symptom Tracker App
- Information about APDA programs and support groups
