NEW YORK, Sept. 23, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — AllianceBernstein National Municipal Income Fund, Inc. (NYSE: AFB) (the “Fund”) today announced that its Board of Directors (the “Board”) has approved the adoption of a Managed Distribution Policy (the “Policy”), effective October 26, 2026.
Under the Policy, the Fund intends to make regular monthly distributions to shareholders at a level established from time to time by the Board, currently at a fixed rate of $0.067 per share of Common Stock of the Fund. The Policy is intended to provide shareholders with a predictable level of cash distributions while allowing the Fund to continue pursuing its investment objective.
If distributions under the Policy exceed the Fund’s aggregate net investment income and net realized capital gains with respect to a given year, the difference will generally constitute a return of capital to shareholders. A return of capital may occur when some or all of the money a shareholder invested in the Fund is returned to the shareholder. A return of capital does not necessarily reflect the Fund’s performance and should not be confused with “yield” or “income”. Shareholders should not draw any conclusions about the Fund’s performance from the amount of the Fund’s distributions or from the terms of the Policy.
The Policy is monitored by AllianceBernstein L.P. (the “Adviser”) and the Fund’s Board. The Fund is not required to maintain a managed distribution policy and the Board may modify or terminate such policy at any time.
The Fund is a registered closed-end management investment company managed by the Adviser.
