NORTHBROOK, Ill., April 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — With gas prices averaging $4 a gallon ahead of spring break travel, Allstate is helping customers save money on gas prices with free tools and simple saving tips in the Allstate mobile app.

Allstate is helping customers save money on gas prices with free tools and simple saving tips in the Allstate mobile app.

Allstate customers have access to a free gas finder in the Allstate app powered by GasBuddy. Customers can see nearby gas stations and current prices per gallon, finding the best price at the pump without downloading another app or enrolling in another program.

Allstate says interest in the feature has grown sharply in the past month as gas prices rise. Weekly visits to the gas finder are up 85% since January, with more than 50,000 visits to the feature each week1.

Michael Halpin, VP of auto product marketing at Allstate:
“Allstate is committed to helping customers save money on the road and at the pump. Beyond everyday safe driving, what surprises many drivers is that they already have tools in the Allstate app to help them save. That includes finding cheaper gas to getting discounted pricing on routine car maintenance that can improve fuel efficiency.”

How can you save on gas and take steps that help you stay safe on the road?
In addition to comparing gas prices, Allstate recommends a few often-overlooked steps to take before a road trip that can improve fuel efficiency and safety:

  • Check tire pressure before you leave. Underinflated tires create more resistance on the road, which can reduce fuel efficiency and affect handling. Properly inflated tires help vehicles run more efficiently, especially on long highway drives.
  • Clear out your trunk and roof racks. Extra weight forces your engine to work harder. Removing unnecessary items from your trunk, roof rack or cargo area can improve mileage and make your vehicle easier to control during sudden stops.
  • Drive smoother, not faster. Rapid acceleration, speeding and hard braking burn more fuel and increase crash risk. Combine errands to take fewer trips and maintain a steady speed to stretch a tank of gas while reducing wear on your vehicle.

How else can Allstate customers save in the mobile app?
The Allstate app helps drivers save money beyond the pump by taking the guesswork out of car care. Customers can compare prices and schedule routine maintenance like oil changes, tire services and brake work directly in the app, helping them avoid overpaying or delaying maintenance that can lead to costlier repairs down the road. When repairs are needed, customers can also find nearby shops in Allstate’s Good Hands Repair Network, a nationwide group of prescreened auto body shops backed by a lifetime guarantee on repairs2.

Allstate is helping customers save money as households manage everyday costs on and off the road. Allstate proactively lowered insurance premiums for 7.8 million customers by an average of 17% in 2025. Customers can also save by enrolling in Drivewise, Allstate’s free safe-driving program available in the Allstate app3. Drivewise offers personalized feedback on behaviors like speeding and phone handling that can help customers reduce risk and reduce premiums. Customers who use Drivewise are 25% less likely to experience a severe collision than those who don’t4.
